Immediate Post-Op (1 Week)
Immediately following the surgery, the abdomen and incision site will be swollen, bruised, and may ooze a small amount of blood or fluid. It is important to keep the area clean and dry, and follow any instructions given by your surgeon for wound care. You may also experience some pain and discomfort, which can be managed with medication.
Mid-Term Healing (8 Months)
Swelling in the abdominal area would have significantly subsided compared to the earlier stages of healing, the scar would have also matured considerably by being thinner and lighter in colour, and less raised, your scar can still improve further over time.
Long-Term Healing (18 Months)
Patients are enjoying a flatter and firmer abdomen with the final scar appearance varying by individual but generally reaching its mature state, resembling a thin, pale line. While still visible, these scars are significantly less conspicuous. Continued sun protection and scar care contribute to long-term scar improvement.

I have had an excellent experience with Bella Vou and would highly recommend the clinic to anyone considering surgery. I recently underwent an abdominoplasty and hernia repair with Mr Dr Amir Nakhdjevani. Whilst I didn’t have excessive amounts of loose skin, I had post-pregnancy wrinkling above my belly button, stretch marks, and diastasis (abdominal separation), which meant my abs never really reflected the effort I put in at the gym. I first chose Bella Vou after seeing Dr Amir featured on ITV’s Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection and was immediately struck by his warm yet professional manner. Alongside this, Bella Vou’s complimentary consultation service and complete lack of pressure really appealed to me. It genuinely felt as though they put the client first, which isn’t always a given. The clinic itself feels more like a five-star hotel than a medical facility — elegant, spotless, calm and welcoming. Every member of staff strikes the perfect balance between friendly and professional. Dr Amir is clearly exceptional at what he does; he communicates with expertise and honesty, manages expectations clearly, and makes you feel completely safe and confident in his hands. The surgery itself lasted around 2.5 hours. The overnight care was also fantastic — the night staff were incredible, I was able to order complimentary Deliveroo, watch Netflix, and my husband was able to stay with me for most of the evening, which made a huge difference. I also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers once I arrived home – such a thoughtful touch. Recovery-wise, I think it’s important to be honest for anyone considering this surgery: the first week is tough. I would strongly recommend having family or friends around to help with moving around, meals and keeping on top of medication. Between the anaesthetic and pain relief, I felt mainly drowsy, swollen and nauseous during that first week. However, the clinic were incredibly reassuring throughout and always available to answer questions, which helped enormously. The second week was significantly better. I was still walking slightly hunched over but was moving around the house much more confidently. Sleep improved and I became more comfortable wearing the compression garment. By the end of week two, I felt physically and mentally much brighter. I’m now at the beginning of week three and the difference compared to two weeks ago is incredible. My posture is almost completely back to normal, and whilst I still need to rest in the afternoons, I look and feel like myself again. One thing I would strongly recommend is taking a full two weeks off work if at all possible. I had optimistically scheduled a couple of work calls during week two and ended up needing to cancel them because my concentration still wasn’t fully there. In hindsight, I should have completely blocked out those two weeks from the start. Overall, I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience and feel very grateful to the entire Bella Vou team.

After my initial consultation, I decided and hubbie agreed to book it without a moment’s hesitation. Consultation is free and with the surgeon who will talk you through everything and provide his opinion and advice. I had a Tummy Tuck and 6 sites of Vaser Liposuction. I booked within a week and was very nervous to the point I had fully paid but was going to pull out! My paying coordinator Oliver was so kind and honest and answered any questions regardless how stupid and put my mind at ease through the whole process, pre op assessment and surgery day! You can also get collected by a driver who was so lovely and also played a part in keeping me calm. Before surgery lovely Kelly one of the nurses sat with me for 2 hours making me laugh and showed me to my beautiful room. One night wasn’t enough! Drawings done on my skin by Amir Nakhdjevani the magician !! And then into surgery. It was breeze woke up 3 hours later feeling so good I questioned had surgery been done. Amazing staff and night nurses who looked after me throughout . Amazing aftercare with MLD massages and nurse checks to ensure all well. Im not going to lie, surgery is a big deal and you have to be an a certain place to get to this point. I was quite ashamed of my ‘before’ photos and hates taking them, let alone anyone else seeing them, but when Rado said he could help me, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief that I didn’t have to live like this for the rest of my life. After the surgery I was in a bit of shock, because my tummy was tight! Bella Vou clinic offers an elite customer experience from day 1. My surgeon Radovan Boca was an extremely confident, efficient and experienced surgeon which was evident from the first consultation! My case was complex, with a 360 circumferential tummy tuck, muscle repair and hernia repair needed, as well as 4 sites of liposuction, following 40kg/7 stone weight loss. On the assessment I was given a clear treatment plan and fees were transparent from the first meeting with my patient coordinator Stacie… On surgery day the full team were absolutely incredible. I was reassured by my recovery nurse Kelly on what would happen. The anaesthetist also came to meet me to provide details of the surgery plan. Rado then spent extra time on the marking up process to ensure he had a very comprehensive plan during surgery itself. The surgery went very well (Rado removed 8.5kg/1 stone 4lbs of skin/fat) and I was very comfortable in the recovery suite which was equipped with all your requirements (toiletries, robe, towels). The night / discharge team (Olinda, Juliana, Wurola, Sylvette) were all brilliant and on hand to assist, especially as my blood pressure was very low and not behaving! In November 2023 I booked a full abdominoplasty and vaser lipo with Amir. I visited for my initial consult and knew straight away that i had found the right surgeon, Amir was compassionate, knowledgeable and extremely professional. Fast forward to the 18th of January and my surgery day, Amir was understanding of how nerve wracking surgery can be and i felt at ease from the moment I walked into the building. I was in theatre a lot longer than planned due to an umbilical hernia and extra muscle repair, Amir is a perfectionist and made sure all was well and to his high standards before finishing the surgery. I gained 5 stones in both of my pregnancies and breast fed for a year with each baby, and despite lots of hard work in the gym, there was no chance that my body would ever recover. At the age of 40, I have good muscle tone and low body fat (bmi of 20), but all of that was hidden under loose and saggy skin. I also had quite a large separation of my abdominal muscles, which meant my stomach protruded, despite being slim… I booked in for a circumferential tummy tuck, breast lift and implants and had my surgery at the end of November. It was a long operation (around 8 hours) and I stayed overnight at the clinic. There were really, *really* lovely nurses caring for me overnight… I’m 4 months ish post surgery and… my body looks AWESOME. Amir should work for Mattel, because he’s given me a body like Barbie. I’ve never had a body this good – even as an 18 year old my boobs weren’t this symmetrical and perky or my stomach this flat. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. The first time I met Rado I was a shell of my true self. Weighed down by my previous surgery after a cervical cancer diagnosis. I didn’t love myself or my body. Rado declined to operate on me at our first consultation. I had all three done same day… I had some revision surgery at about 15 months after the initial, some liposuction around the flanks, and some additional skin removed from the chest. My first procedure with Amir…was a Bilateral Breast Augmentation back in December 2020…I decided to book a consultation, first a Zoom then face to face. He was/is friendly, warm, kind, and approachable, took his time to explain what to expect, take measurements, and advise of the relevant breast implant size… Once I was admitted for the procedure I met other ‘family’ members – receptionist, nurses, anesthetists, night staff for the overnight stay, photographers, etc. Every single person in that place is an angel. Hi, I decided to go to Bella Vou after researching my surgeon, Amir Nakhejevani, who is fully qualified with many years of experience. I wanted him to perform my abdominoplasty with liposuction. I found it a very reassuring experience when I first went to Bella Vou and realized how professionally the clinic was set up and how friendly all the staff were…After the procedure, I stayed in Tunbridge Wells for a week to have my daily lymphatic drainage massages. Which was included in the price. I found this to be very helpful and Nikki was not only very experienced but was also very knowledgeable of my procedure. I looked forward to seeing her daily for our little chats, in addition to my massages. The aftercare was also very good, I do not live very near but if needed, I could always have a video call in addition to visiting the clinic for any concerns I had. Everything was explained in great detail and I could not be happier with the results. A previous surgery had left me with an off centre tummy button and without the shape I was hoping for. Using Vaser liposuction with abdominoplasty surgery Amir reshaped my whole torso, removing excess fat from my hips and giving me a central tummy button again. I have had surgeries performed by Amir (tummy tuck, breast reduction, liposuction of chin, arms, thighs, back, and buccal fat reduction). I have also spoken to Amir about other procedures I was interested in, but he was very honest and said the risks and expected outcomes wouldn’t make it worth my money/time/risk. I have had an outstanding experience with Amir Sadr at Bella Vou from start to finish. Firstly, at my initial consult, which was free of charge, and not hurried at all. Amir answered all my questions and made me feel really comfortable. He is clearly very passionate about what he does and he will only operate if he feels it is the right thing for the patient. I went on to have a tummy tuck and brow lift at Bella Vou in October 2021, receiving excellent care both on the day (general anaesthetic and an overnight stay), and in the following weeks during the healing process. A year later in October 2022 I had an upper eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty) under local anaesthetic walk in/walk out which I am recovering from now. I had a tummy tuck with Vaser Lipo on 18/12/2020…each and every one of the staff was amazing, introduced themselves, and explained to me what would happen. I got taken into the theatre room and the next thing I remember was waking up…Amir came in to show me my results and I honestly couldn’t believe how I looked. Absolutely life-changing, Amir explained he had been able to remove more skin than he had first thought, the removed skin weighed just under 5lb and my muscle repair was around 4 cm. I was able to get myself out of bed to the toilet during the night…Amir S came in to check me over and discharge me.
