Sunekos Skin Rejuvenation

Sunekos can be used to smooth and tighten the skin across the whole body but is particularly effective at treating décolleté, tummy, arms, thighs, hands, knees and elbows.

Fibroblasts are the cells responsible for the production of the proteins collagen and elastin (the building blocks of healthy youthful skin), but as we age, these fibroblast cells slow their production of these proteins. Additionally, there is a significant drop off in the production of collagen and elastin in women that have gone through the menopause.

Sunekos is designed to target the fibroblasts, giving them the amino and hyaluronic acids that they need, to stimulate them into boosting their production of collagen and elastin again. As well as improving the functioning of the fibroblast cells, Sunekos also sets about improving the environment that the collagen and elastin are being released into, meaning that they last longer.

The key thing that makes Sunekos so special is that it produces collagen and elastin in the same ratio that the body needs it in, giving better and longer lasting results.

Sunekos acts in a physiological way, and it is common to see improvements after the first session.

A Sunekos treatment course typically consists of 3 to 4 treatments depending on the severity of the laxity. The initial treatment is to activate the collagen and elastin production process, the second treatment starts the rebuilding and remodelling of the skin and the third & fourth treatments are designed to make the process last. These treatments each take place 2 to 3 weeks apart due to the cumulative effect of each treatment. It is then advisable to have an additional treatment at the 6-month point.

We would expect to repeat the process again at 12 to 18-months for maximum benefit

The aesthetic doctor will map out the areas that are to be treated. Once mapped they will inject the Sunekos in the desired volumes. The whole treatment will take approximately 15 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated.

Most patients report seeing results by the time they come back for their second treatment with improvements being reported right up to their 6-month top-up treatment.

Fat Transfer: This is used to revolumise the areas of the body that have become lax, creating a more youthful appearance, but they do nothing to improve the quality or texture of the skin

PDO Threads: Threads are used to tighten sagging skin on the stomach, buttocks, back, inner thighs and upper arms. As with the treatments above, they do not address the texture or quality of the skin.

Morpheus 8: This treatment does improve the texture and quality of the skin, however the downtime can prove prohibitive to some people. A Sunekos treatment takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete while a Morpheus 8 treatment can take up to an hour. CO2RE Laser Resurfacing: This treatment does improve the texture and quality of the skin, however, as with Morpheus 8, the downtime can prove prohibitive to some people. During your consultation the aesthetic doctor can advise on the best options based on your specific age and skin quality.
