Lip Fillers are a cosmetic treatment that can enhance the volume and shape of your lips. Using hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body, fillers add fullness and can also correct asymmetries, resulting in symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing lips.
The team at Bella Vou is dedicated to ensuring your comfort during treatment. The lips are a very sensitive area. They will apply a topical anaesthetic before the procedure and place ice packs to numb the skin and reduce pain.
The needle is very fine, so discomfort should be transient.

The longevity of Lip Filler results varies from person to person but typically lasts between 6 to 9 months. Factors such as the type of filler used, your metabolism, and how your body reacts to the product can affect duration.

Some bruising or swelling can occur after injections, but this is typically minor and settles within a few days. Injections to fill the lip do swell a bit more in the first few days after treatment. Very rarely, an allergic reaction could occur.

Lip Fillers may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with certain allergies, skin infections, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should refrain from the treatment. Our practitioners will assess your medical history to ensure Lip Fillers are safe for you.
On the day of treatment, you should not have make-up on the area to be treated. You can use make-up again, as usual, the day after your filler treatment.
If you don't like the look of your lips after the hyaluronic acid has been injected, the treatment can be reversed by injecting an enzyme which dissolves most types of filler.
To minimize bruising, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil for a week before your appointment. It's recommended to stay hydrated and arrive with a clean face free of makeup.
The experts at Bella Vou advise against having filler during menstruation, the injections tend to be more uncomfortable despite local anaesthetic, and there are far more episodes of patients feeling faint or nauseated following the injections.
It's best to avoid strenuous activities for 24 to 48 hours after the procedure to prevent additional swelling. Gentle activities and keeping the head elevated can help expedite the recovery process.
It's important to have realistic expectations when it comes to cosmetic procedures. This will be discussed during your initial consultation. If you are not satisfied with the results, our practitioners can adjust the fillers or, if necessary, dissolve them with a hyaluronidase injection.
