Lauren, 27, from Kent, was left with a lot of excess skin after having two 9lb babies. In April 2021 she had Abdominoplasty with Liposuction: Back & Sides & Bi-lateral Breast Uplift with Implants. Here she shares her experience with Bella Vou:
After having two large pregnancies and two large babies, I had excess skin around my waist. I had to have an emergency C-section with my second baby and the scar I was left with was wonky and made the skin overhang - it was awful!
I never wanted to be out in public or even at home without baggy clothes on! I couldn’t even put a bikini on in summer in the garden playing with the kids - my confidence wouldn’t let me. I also had a 7cm muscle tear so I had a sort of pot belly too.
I tried to get rid of it by doing cardio and HIIT workouts, but not a lot happened, and I knew I had to go down the surgery route. I’d been thinking about having a Tummy Tuck after having my first baby, but we knew we wanted a bigger family so I waited until I’d had my second child to go through with it.
I initially went to see a different surgeon, and I paid £190 for a consultation, but something just didn’t sit right with me. They said they couldn’t do the entire surgery in one go, and I'd have to wait a whole year before they could fit me in. I knew I didn’t feel completely happy with going under the knife for the first time with them.
Then I saw Amir Nakhdjevani at Bella Vou and I knew he was the surgeon I wanted. He made me feel instantly at ease. I’d come across him on social media, and he’d also been recommended to me by a friend who had had surgery with him in the past. I went for a free consultation, knowing that I had nothing to lose, and the clinic made me feel instantly calm. It felt more like a spa, with candles and a nice atmosphere - there was nothing clinical about it, the place was stunning!
Amir recommended things that I hadn’t thought of myself, he told me he could do all the procedures at once, and he said he could fit me in for surgery just a few weeks later. It felt right, I felt so much more comfortable with him, and I knew this was where I wanted to go.
I was so excited for surgery, it felt too good to be true! I didn’t think it would ever happen and I couldn't believe I was going to wake up with a new body. The rooms were lovely (there’s nothing hospital-like about them) with a nice open shower and toilet so you don’t have to deal with pulling doors open after surgery. I had Netflix, a comfy bed, and the staff were lovely! Everyone was just amazing, nothing was ever too much for them.
In theatre, while I was getting prepared, the staff were talking to me and helping me to relax, and they said they could see the excitement in my eyes! The next thing I knew I was waking up again. It was brilliant. I stood up immediately, Scott - my nurse - called my husband straight away to let him know that I was ok, and after one night I was discharged and back home.
After the surgery, I had a couple of face-to-face appointments and a good few phone calls with Bella Vou. My body rejected a couple of the dissolvable stitches and I had a couple of areas that didn’t want to close quickly, but the team sent me out the appropriate dressings to help the healing process. The aftercare is outstanding!
The garment was uncomfortable, but after six weeks I took it off and that was it. This has changed my life for sure. My attitude has changed, my confidence has changed, my relationship has grown again after having babies, I feel stronger in my core - it’s just an all rounder!
I’ve noticed I’m stronger too - just months on I can feel my abs and my core, and I can do exercise that I wasn’t able to before. My belly still feels a bit numb, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay for all the other results. I know over the next few months this too will improve.
Before treatment I was in a sluggish mood. I never wanted to go out, I hated my body, I never got naked in front of my husband, I even hated showing Amir my body! Now, I’ve thrown away all my baggy clothes, I can buy clothes that actually fit nicely and I even wear little crop tops and shorts for pyjamas! My confidence is so much better, I would do it all over again if I had to.
The process has been so, so worth it. I feel so much happier now. All I can say is that if you know you want or need surgery, don’t hesitate to come to Amir. If there is anything I ever want done in the future, I’ll 100% be coming back.

I visited for my initial consult and knew straight away that i had found the right surgeon, Amir was compassionate, knowledgeable and extremely professional. Fast forward to the 18th of January and my surgery day, Amir was understanding of how nerve wracking surgery can be and i felt at ease from the moment I walked into the building. I was in theatre a lot longer than planned due to an umbilical hernia and extra muscle repair, Amir is a perfectionist and made sure all was well and to his high standards before finishing the surgery. I’ve had a minor umbilical complication which is unfortunately one of the risks associated with this procedure. But the aftercare I have received from Amir and his team has been second to none and I could not be happier with my results. I look forward to my umbilical correction in a few months. I really cannot thank Amir enough and would recommend him to anyone looking for a cosmetic surgeon.

Dr Sadr is an incredibly approachable doctor. His attention to detail is excellent and he explained everything very clearly. He listens to any concerns and wants the absolute best result for his patients. The clinic is absolutely beautiful and it felt like a hotel stay rather than a hospital! The road to recovery is long with a tummy tuck but I have recovered very well and have benefitted from regular check ups and assurance the whole way. I am really happy with my results. The main thing that stood out for me is that Amir wouldn’t do anything that wouldn’t suit my body, so was very thorough with managing my expectations as when I said I wanted to go bigger he said it would all depend what he found during surgery as to what would fit best. I gained 5 stones in both of my pregnancies and breast fed for a year with each baby, and despite lots of hard work in the gym, there was no chance that my body would ever recover. At the age of 40, I have good muscle tone and low body fat (bmi of 20), but all of that was hidden under loose and saggy skin. I also had quite a large separation of my abdominal muscles, which meant my stomach protruded, despite being slim… I booked in for a circumferential tummy tuck, breast lift and implants and had my surgery at the end of November. It was a long operation (around 8 hours) and I stayed overnight at the clinic. There were really, *really* lovely nurses caring for me overnight… I’m 4 months ish post surgery and… my body looks AWESOME. Amir should work for Mattel, because he’s given me a body like Barbie. I’ve never had a body this good – even as an 18 year old my boobs weren’t this symmetrical and perky or my stomach this flat. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. So, I can’t rate Amir highly enough, he really is a brilliant surgeon with an astute eye for what will suit his patients, but I also want to praise Bella Vou as a clinic overall. They have really created something special there with their approach, it feels like a boutique experience where they’ve literally anticipated every thing you might need… everyone is brilliant. I’ve seen Dr. Holmes at Bella Vou for Anti-Wrinkle Injections and tear trough filler. My experience couldn’t be more positive. I’ve previously had Anti-Wrinkle Injections and filler (though not tear trough filler) at another clinic near my home but wasn’t fully satisfied for reasons that I’ll come to. I then had surgery at Bella Vou last year and was so impressed with… well, everything… that I thought I’d try getting my aesthetic treatments done there, too… Tear trough filler was something I was nervous about from a pain perspective, but Dr Holmes used a cannula, and I barely even felt it. In contrast, my previous injector used a syringe for filler and I think this contributed to the discomfort and bruising. Most importantly, the results look fantastic. Very natural, but refreshed. Bella Vou is a 2 hour train or car journey for me, but I’m more than happy to do 4 hours of travel to receive such superior treatment. I can’t recommend Dr Holmes and Bella Vou enough.
