Step 2. Meet your specialist
During your consultation with the specialist who will perform your Fleur De Lis surgery, you are given a chance to find out more about the procedure and ask any questions you like.
Step 3. Preparation for Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck surgery
You'll be given individual pre-treatment or pre-operative advice to reduce any complications and support your speedy and healthy recovery.
It's important to let your specialist know if you're on any prescription or over-the-counter medications. You may be asked to stop taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory tablets, which can increase the risk of bruising. It's also essential to stop smoking cigarettes and e-cigarettes before and after treatment because they can disrupt the healing process.
On the day of your treatment, the team at Bella Vou will welcome you, give you a gown to wear and escort you to the state-of-the-art treatment suite.
Step 4. What happens during Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck?
Fluer de Lis Tummy Tuck is carried out under General Anaesthetic and on average, takes around three hours to perform.
The surgeon makes two incisions - a horizontal one in the lower abdominal area (similar to a traditional tummy tuck) and a vertical incision that runs up the middle of the stomach. Like a traditional Tummy Tuck, an incision will also be made around the belly button.
Excess skin and fatty tissue are removed, and the underlying muscles are tightened. This procedure is more extensive than a standard tummy tuck, so it can involve a longer recovery. After the surgery, patients wear compression garments to support the healing process and achieve a smoother, firmer abdomen.
Step 5. Recovery from Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck
Recovery from a Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck is more comprehensive and extended compared to a traditional tummy tuck due to the additional incisions and extensive tissue removal involved. The typical recovery period for a tummy tuck is approximately six weeks. However, some individuals might experience a slower or quicker return to normal activity. It's important to note that the pace of recovery can vary among patients.
In the initial days post-surgery, patients may experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising in the treated area, managed with prescribed pain medication. Compression garments support healing and reduce swelling. Light activity is encouraged, while strenuous exercise is gradually reintroduced as advised by the surgeon. Most individuals can return to work within two weeks, depending on their job's physical demands.

I recently underwent an abdominoplasty and hernia repair with Mr Dr Amir Nakhdjevani. Whilst I didn’t have excessive amounts of loose skin, I had post-pregnancy wrinkling above my belly button, stretch marks, and diastasis (abdominal separation), which meant my abs never really reflected the effort I put in at the gym. I first chose Bella Vou after seeing Dr Amir featured on ITV’s Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection and was immediately struck by his warm yet professional manner. Alongside this, Bella Vou’s complimentary consultation service and complete lack of pressure really appealed to me. It genuinely felt as though they put the client first, which isn’t always a given. The clinic itself feels more like a five-star hotel than a medical facility — elegant, spotless, calm and welcoming. Every member of staff strikes the perfect balance between friendly and professional. Dr Amir is clearly exceptional at what he does; he communicates with expertise and honesty, manages expectations clearly, and makes you feel completely safe and confident in his hands. The surgery itself lasted around 2.5 hours. The overnight care was also fantastic — the night staff were incredible, I was able to order complimentary Deliveroo, watch Netflix, and my husband was able to stay with me for most of the evening, which made a huge difference. I also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers once I arrived home – such a thoughtful touch. Recovery-wise, I think it’s important to be honest for anyone considering this surgery: the first week is tough. I would strongly recommend having family or friends around to help with moving around, meals and keeping on top of medication. Between the anaesthetic and pain relief, I felt mainly drowsy, swollen and nauseous during that first week. However, the clinic were incredibly reassuring throughout and always available to answer questions, which helped enormously. The second week was significantly better. I was still walking slightly hunched over but was moving around the house much more confidently. Sleep improved and I became more comfortable wearing the compression garment. By the end of week two, I felt physically and mentally much brighter. I’m now at the beginning of week three and the difference compared to two weeks ago is incredible. My posture is almost completely back to normal, and whilst I still need to rest in the afternoons, I look and feel like myself again. One thing I would strongly recommend is taking a full two weeks off work if at all possible. I had optimistically scheduled a couple of work calls during week two and ended up needing to cancel them because my concentration still wasn’t fully there. In hindsight, I should have completely blocked out those two weeks from the start. Overall, I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience and feel very grateful to the entire Bella Vou team.

Im not going to lie, surgery is a big deal and you have to be an a certain place to get to this point. I was quite ashamed of my ‘before’ photos and hates taking them, let alone anyone else seeing them, but when Rado said he could help me, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief that I didn’t have to live like this for the rest of my life. My case was complex, with a 360 circumferential tummy tuck, muscle repair and hernia repair needed, as well as 4 sites of liposuction, following 40kg/7 stone weight loss. On the assessment I was given a clear treatment plan and fees were transparent from the first meeting with my patient coordinator Stacie… On surgery day the full team were absolutely incredible. I was reassured by my recovery nurse Kelly on what would happen. The anaesthetist also came to meet me to provide details of the surgery plan. Rado then spent extra time on the marking up process to ensure he had a very comprehensive plan during surgery itself. The surgery went very well (Rado removed 8.5kg/1 stone 4lbs of skin/fat) and I was very comfortable in the recovery suite which was equipped with all your requirements (toiletries, robe, towels). The night / discharge team (Olinda, Juliana, Wurola, Sylvette) were all brilliant and on hand to assist, especially as my blood pressure was very low and not behaving! The nurses and staff were so friendly and helpful. It really does seem like they all enjoy working there and the atmosphere is very positive. The road to recovery is long with a tummy tuck but I have recovered very well and have benefitted from regular check ups and assurance the whole way. I am really happy with my results. I can wear clothes I couldn’t before, and for the first time in 15 years I might just wear a bikini this summer! Would I go back to Bella Vou? Yes definitely. I would recommend to anyone.

I gained 5 stones in both of my pregnancies and breast fed for a year with each baby, and despite lots of hard work in the gym, there was no chance that my body would ever recover. At the age of 40, I have good muscle tone and low body fat (bmi of 20), but all of that was hidden under loose and saggy skin. I also had quite a large separation of my abdominal muscles, which meant my stomach protruded, despite being slim… I booked in for a circumferential tummy tuck, breast lift and implants and had my surgery at the end of November. It was a long operation (around 8 hours) and I stayed overnight at the clinic. There were really, *really* lovely nurses caring for me overnight… I’m 4 months ish post surgery and… my body looks AWESOME. Amir should work for Mattel, because he’s given me a body like Barbie. I’ve never had a body this good – even as an 18 year old my boobs weren’t this symmetrical and perky or my stomach this flat. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. I had all three done same day… I had some revision surgery at about 15 months after the initial, some liposuction around the flanks, and some additional skin removed from the chest. Hi, I decided to go to Bella Vou after researching my surgeon, Amir Nakhejevani, who is fully qualified with many years of experience. I wanted him to perform my abdominoplasty with liposuction. I found it a very reassuring experience when I first went to Bella Vou and realized how professionally the clinic was set up and how friendly all the staff were…After the procedure, I stayed in Tunbridge Wells for a week to have my daily lymphatic drainage massages. Which was included in the price. I found this to be very helpful and Nikki was not only very experienced but was also very knowledgeable of my procedure. I looked forward to seeing her daily for our little chats, in addition to my massages. The aftercare was also very good, I do not live very near but if needed, I could always have a video call in addition to visiting the clinic for any concerns I had. Everything was explained in great detail and I could not be happier with the results. A previous surgery had left me with an off centre tummy button and without the shape I was hoping for. I have had an outstanding experience with Amir Sadr at Bella Vou from start to finish. Firstly, at my initial consult, which was free of charge, and not hurried at all. Amir answered all my questions and made me feel really comfortable. He is clearly very passionate about what he does and he will only operate if he feels it is the right thing for the patient. I went on to have a tummy tuck and brow lift at Bella Vou in October 2021, receiving excellent care both on the day (general anaesthetic and an overnight stay), and in the following weeks during the healing process. A year later in October 2022 I had an upper eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty) under local anaesthetic walk in/walk out which I am recovering from now. I had a tummy tuck with Vaser Lipo on 18/12/2020…each and every one of the staff was amazing, introduced themselves, and explained to me what would happen. I got taken into the theatre room and the next thing I remember was waking up…Amir came in to show me my results and I honestly couldn’t believe how I looked. Absolutely life-changing, Amir explained he had been able to remove more skin than he had first thought, the removed skin weighed just under 5lb and my muscle repair was around 4 cm.
