Lip Fillers are non-surgical treatments to boost the volume of the lips. Injections of specially-formulated hyaluronic acid gel can enlarge the lips, define the contour, and restore symmetry to the mouth.

Lip augmentation with fillers is temporary. The specialists inject lip fillers that act immediately to plump the pout but are gradually reabsorbed by the body's natural processes, remaining effective for nearly a year.

Step 1. Free, no-obligation consultation

Bella Vou offers every client a free consultation with an expert. The consultation is an opportunity to discuss any concerns you have with your lips and the results you want to achieve.

Bella Vou provides a bespoke and holistic rejuvenation service. The specialists will carefully examine your mouth and check lip volume and symmetry. In careful consultation with you, they will tailor treatment to achieve the look you want.

Step 2. Preparation for Lip Fillers

Proper preparation before Lip Filler injections can reduce bruising and improve your recovery. You should:

  • Avoid alcohol a day before treatment.
  • Avoid any herbal medication for one week before injections.
  • Stop any blood-thinning treatments, including aspirin and ibuprofen, for one week. Ask your specialist or your GP for advice before stopping the prescribed medication.
  • Avoid fillers if you have your period.

Step 3. What happens during Lip Fillers?

Lip Fillers are injected as an outpatient procedure. Forty-five minutes before treatment, the staff at Bella Vou will apply a topical anaesthetic cream and place cold packs to numb the lips and ensure your comfort.

The specialist will carefully inject filler using a fine needle. They will place it along the border of the lips, in the white hairless line that surrounds the red vermilion of the mouth. This increases the size of the lips and gives a pouting appearance.

Your consultant will build up the volume slowly and gradually. Multiple small injections allow control, ensuring you get the size and shape you want. Lip volume can be progressively increased over several treatments, if necessary.

Following filler injection, your specialist will gently massage the area to ensure that the filler is spread evenly.

Step 4. Recovery from Lip Fillers

After the procedure, most people can go home and get on with normal activities. However, the staff at Bella Vou are always on hand to offer you a drink or a snack and answer any questions.

There is minimal downtime following the procedure. You will be able to get on with your usual activities; however, mild redness, small lumps, and a little bruising are normal for a few days after treatment.

Applying cold packs and sleeping with your head raised on a couple of pillows can reduce swelling and bruising. The team will advise on follow-up care and offer support and guidance at any time.
