TREATMENT OVERVIEW

Ear Pinning or Pinnaplasty is surgery to reshape the ears and pin them back so that they don't stick out. Ear correction surgery can transform the size, shape, and prominence of the ears. Bella Vou provides Pinnaplasty by highly-skilled cosmetic surgeons and a comfortable, supportive environment in which to recover.

You should take it easy and avoid strenuous activity for two to three weeks following ear correction surgery. Gradually increase exercise as you regain fitness, by six weeks you should be back to normal.

Step 1. Free, no-obligation consultation

Bella Vou offers every client a free consultation with an expert, accredited cosmetic surgeon with no obligation to proceed to treatment. The consultation is an opportunity to discuss the concerns you have with your ears, the results you want to achieve, and whether Ear Pinning can help you reach those goals. The surgeon will examine the size, shape, and position of the ears and determine the changes needed for you to get the transformation you want.

Bella Vou will always give you an impartial professional opinion. Mr Amir Nakhdjevani says:

Step 2. Meet your surgeon

You will be offered a further appointment with your consultant before proceeding to Ear Pinning treatment. This will give you a chance to find out more about the procedure and to ask any questions you may have.

Step 3. Preparation for Ear Pinning surgery

The staff at Bella Vou will give you individual pre-operative advice to reduce your risk of bleeding and infection, and help your recovery.

Let your surgeon know about any prescription or over-the-counter medications you take. You may be asked to stop taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory medicines, which can increase the chance of bruising and bleeding. Quitting smoking cigarettes and e-cigarettes can help wound healing and reduce the risk of complications.

On the day of your surgery, you’ll be welcomed to Bella Vou, given a gown to wear and escorted to the state-of-the-art operating theatre. As you'll be awake for your procedure, your surgeon will greet you, explain what will happen, and provide support throughout the operation.

Step 4. What happens during Ear Pinning Surgery?

The surgeon will inject local anaesthetic so that the area is numb. They will make incisions in the skin behind the ears so that they can modify the shape, size, and position of cartilage.

Depending on your ears and your personal preferences, the surgeon will carefully reshape, fold, or remove some of the cartilage to resize and recontour the ears. The ears are secured close to the head with stitches, which will need to be removed after a week.

Step 5. Recovery from Ear Pinning surgery

Following surgery, you will be able to go home the same day; there are no drains or dressings. It’s normal for the ears to be bruised, sore, and swollen after surgery; discomfort can be controlled with over-the-counter medication. The staff at Bella Vou will carefully monitor your recovery and provide support every step of the way.

The swelling will gradually settle over the first few weeks, as you recover you should wear a headband is worn at night, to maintain your comfort and to protect the ears. After a week, the nurse and wound care specialist will check your scars, remove the stitches, and ensure you’re healthy and well.

At around six weeks, your surgeon will check your progress, and at six months, the nurse and wound care specialist will see you again to ensure that you remain healthy, well, and happy with your results. However, if you have any questions or concerns, the staff at Bella Vou are always on hand to offer guidance, day and night.
