Weddings are filled with decisions. Satin or lace, beef or chicken, and for some women, lift or augmentation? Cosmetic surgery procedures, both invasive and non-invasive, are becoming the norm and just one more box on the wedding checklist to tick off for some brides.
There is a lot of planning and preparation that goes into your wedding day; the dress, food, decorations, invitations, location and honeymoon. For many it can be completely overwhelming and stressful, especially when everyone wants to give their opinion. On top of all of this the Bride and Groom also have the worry of looking good for the special day, so getting into shape and looking their very best is probably the biggest priority.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, when all eyes are on you. It may only last a day but photographs and videos last forever and become part of your family history. It’s no surprise that couples want to look their very best.
In the past, hair and makeup were the usual necessities brides had for their wedding, but now, a growing number of couples are turning to cosmetic surgery to prepare and feel amazing for their big day. Whether you are just looking to smooth away wrinkles and lines, or wanting to lose that last remaining bit of stubborn fat or excess skin, cosmetic enhancement is a great option to achieve the look you want.
There are a number of different procedures you might consider before saying “I do”
Injectables, Fillers and Chemical Peels
This is very popular and a good option for candidates who are not looking for invasive surgery but just want to rejuvenate their face or smooth out lines or wrinkles. Whether it is botox, dermal fillers or lip fillers we have everything to cater for your needs.
botox is a temporary but convenient, highly effective quick fix to remove wrinkles and fine lines. It starts to take effect within 5 days and lasts for 3-4 months.
Wrinkles, creases and lines can also be treated by filling the skin with a specially formulated gel ‘filler’. This is injected into or under the dermis (the deepest layer of the skin), pushing up and flattening the crease or wrinkle.
Lip Fillers provide an effective temporary solution to help volumise your lips. Filler adds volume to the lips and typically last around 4-6 months.
A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. Chemical peel treatment effectively combats wrinkles, lines, acne scars and rough skin. After treatment your skin will feel refreshed and regenerated, appearing smoother and more radiant.
For those who are looking for invasive surgery – eyelid surgery or facelifts will tighten excess skin and muscle, and give the face a more youthful and lifted appearance. These treatments require slightly more recovery time so booking the procedure should be done at least a couple of months in advance of the special occasion.
At Bella Vou our Concept Facelift is extremely popular for the Bride, Groom and even Mother of the Bride. Performed under local anaesthetic, the Concept Facelift is a walk in, walk out procedure, targets the lower half of the face and usually has about 1 – 2 weeks downtime. Due to the small incisions, scarring is minimal and you normally feel up to doing normal day to day tasks within in a couple of days.
Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) is also performed under local anaesthetic and can be combined with the facelift. Bruising and swelling are common side effects of these procedures but much less than the traditional facelift performed under general anaesthetic. Results are instant and many of our patients are surprised at how quick they have recovered from these procedures.
Body Contouring and Liposuction
For some, even after dieting and regular exercise, they still need a little help to reach their desired look. We offer tummy tucks (abdominoplasty) and liposuction to create a more contoured and sculptured look.
These can also be combined with other lifting procedures such as, arm lift, breast uplift and thigh lift. All of these are performed under general anaesthetic and should be undertaken at least a couple of months prior to your wedding to allow time for bruising to disappear.
Liposuction targets specific areas on the body and removes fat. Many brides opt for this procedure before the last fitting of their wedding gown so that they feel amazing on the big day and have a great beach body for their honeymoon. This procedure is also very common for men as they like to feel and look good too. This procedure should be done around one month prior to your wedding day.
Breast enhancement is very common for brides-to-be and is usually something they have been wanting to do for a long time, but the wedding is just the incentive to go ahead and book it! A breast uplift or breast implants may be just right for you if you are not completely satisfied with the way your wedding gown fits. You should allow yourself a month to recover from surgery.
