HEALING & SCAR PROGRESSION Timeline
Scars are a natural part of the healing process. The goal is to make your scar as small and discreet as possible. It is important to remember that cosmetic surgery scars and healing progression can vary depending on the type of procedure and the individual's healing process.
Day 1
The area around the eyes will likely be swollen and bruised/ stitches will be present along the incision line. follow any instructions given by your surgeon for wound care. You may also experience some pain and discomfort, which can be managed with medication.
Day 2
Swelling and bruising may peak during this time, eyelids will look more puffy and bruising will become more pronounced. you may experience some discomfort and tightness

Day 4
Swelling typically begins to decrease and any bruising you may have begins to fade, your stitches will be out in the next few days. Discomfort should lessen

Day 6
Swelling and bruising will continue to improve and the area around the eyes will start to look more natural. Bruising may still be present, minimal discomfort at this point.

Day 8
A noticeable difference in swelling and bruising, the incision lines may still be red or pink at this time. you should feel little to no discomfort at this stage in healing
Week 3
By this time in the healing process, the majority of the swelling and bruising should be gone, the scars may still be a little pink but should be barley noticeable.
It is important to follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions carefully and attend all follow-up appointments to ensure the best possible healing and cosmetic results.

I made all my future appointments that day with Ollie who too was very knowledgeable about my upper eyelid procedure. I paid a few weeks before when instructed which was easy to do online. Concept Facelift and Upper Blepharoplasty (eyelids to you and me) After a face and neck lift carried out in Thailand 5 years ago I was not happy with the results. Unfortunately ended up with sagging and scar tissue under my chin. I think this is called (dog ears or cobra neck) Although I was offered free surgery back in Thailand to try and rectify the issue I didn’t feel comfortable. Bella Vou Cosmetic Clinic in Tunbridge Wells is Excellent!… Upon arrival to the extremely smart exterior, a bell with “Overnight care” sits beside the “Day Bell”, which shows immediately that not just the day clients but the overnight clients are considered just as carefully. Ann, the lovely receptionist greets you and the reception area is calm and the interior fashionable. You are then shown up to the first-floor reception, which again is designed with impeccable taste, where a Patient Experience Lead will offer you a soft beverage and magazine. Your appointed liaison person then greets you…and takes you to see your consultant Dr Rado. Dr Rado’s knowledge and explanation of the procedure was brilliant and Julia was able to find an appointment for me. All health care information was sent electronically (seamless) and the procedure was booked in. On the day, naturally, I was very nervous but again, Dr Rado and his nurse (who kindly held my hand at points which soothed my nerves) but the procedure was completed excellently. After considerable research on Upper Blepharoplasty providers, I decided on Bella Vou… Dr Amir went through the full pre-op to post-op process with me and I was under no pressure to make any decision. I did decide to proceed and on the day of the surgery I was understandably nervous but Dr Amir talked me through the whole process letting me know that everything was going to plan which was a great comfort. As soon as the anesthetic was administered I felt no pain at all and the operation was over in less than an hour. Post-surgery and after seeing the stitches in my eyes I was a bit nervous again but after chatting through the follow-up care process with the nurse I left happy. 6 days later I had the stitches taken out and again no pain was involved. It has now been 3 months and I am delighted with the outcome. I had hooded eyes that had drooped with age and now they are better than they were in my 20’s and they look totally natural. I have had an outstanding experience with Amir Sadr at Bella Vou from start to finish. Firstly, at my initial consult, which was free of charge, and not hurried at all. Amir answered all my questions and made me feel really comfortable. He is clearly very passionate about what he does and he will only operate if he feels it is the right thing for the patient. I went on to have a tummy tuck and brow lift at Bella Vou in October 2021, receiving excellent care both on the day (general anaesthetic and an overnight stay), and in the following weeks during the healing process. A year later in October 2022 I had an upper eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty) under local anaesthetic walk in/walk out which I am recovering from now. I really cannot fault Bella Vou at all and would recommend them without hesitation… My healing process went pretty smoothly, but even so I returned to have checkups and dressings changed etc. which was very reassuring. I could see an improvement immediately after surgery and even in the first few days as the swelling and bruising got worse, I still felt I looked better than before. During those first 2 weeks, I did have a few panic moments mainly regarding my upper eyelids, I kept noticing little imperfections which I tried not to obsess about; now they have had time to settle down those imperfections are not noticeable but at the time when I mentioned my concerns, I was given reassurances that if those imperfections were still there after I had had time to heal more, they would try to address them. I look at myself now and I can’t believe the bags are gone, my under eye area looks so much better than 50% better, I know I’m still healing, I still have a bit of bruising and swelling but I really hope I don’t look too different from what I do now when I’ve fully healed. I had been considering lower eyelid surgery for a while, as my eye bags were getting me down. I have very few wrinkles and felt that my eye area was the one thing making me look older and constantly tired. I did lots of research on various clinics, and came across Bella Vou. After reading lots of great reviews, I booked in for a complimentary consultation with Amir and liked his honest and friendly approach right from the start and from there made the decision to go ahead with surgery a few months later. I cant say I wasnt nervous on the day, but Amir and the team made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I opted for local anaesthetic…The injections were painless and the actual procedure was much less scary than I expected. Amir chatted to me the whole time and made sure I was comfortable. The whole process took around an hour and a half and I left the surgery feeling absolutely fine. I took painkillers that afternoon but didnt need any others after Day 1. I am now 3 weeks post-surgery and my eyes look amazing. I’ve had no after effects such as dry or watery eyes and my scars are barely visible. I know the healing process can take up to 6 months, but I am so happy already and don’t know why I left it so long to have this done. A very down-to-earth talented surgeon who really just wants to do his best for you. I had wanted this done for a while as my eyes were getting heavier and harder to conceal with makeup. I am not a nervous person but was nervous about this surgery because it’s the eyes, so made sure I took my time selecting the right surgeon. I had quite bad swelling at first which is quite common for me from past procedures. Amir reassured me this was normal, he also took the time to call me and put my mind at ease. I took photos every day and saw improvements I recommend doing this. So this is more psychological than physical although it does have physical knock-on effects: Before my blepharoplasty, I would have sleepless nights writing about how much worse my baggy eyes would look without a good night’s sleep. The worrying would cause me NOT to sleep thereby increasing my anxiety. It was a vicious circle. This has been for years. So this is more psychological than physical although it does have physical knock-on effects: Before my blepharoplasty, I would have sleepless nights writing about how much worse my baggy eyes would look without a good night’s sleep. The worrying would cause me NOT to sleep thereby increasing my anxiety. It was a vicious circle. This has been for years. The whole process took around an hour and a half and I left the surgery feeling absolutely fine. I took painkillers that afternoon but didnt need any others after Day 1. I am now 3 weeks post-surgery and my eyes look amazing. I’ve had no after effects such as dry or watery eyes and my scars are barely visible. I know the healing process can take up to 6 months, but I am so happy already and don’t know why I left it so long to have this done. I have had an outstanding experience with Amir Sadr at Bella Vou from start to finish. Firstly, at my initial consult, which was free of charge, and not hurried at all. Amir answered all my questions and made me feel really comfortable. He is clearly very passionate about what he does and he will only operate if he feels it is the right thing for the patient. I went on to have a tummy tuck and brow lift at Bella Vou in October 2021, receiving excellent care both on the day (general anaesthetic and an overnight stay), and in the following weeks during the healing process. After considerable research on Upper Blepharoplasty providers, I decided on Bella Vou… Dr Amir went through the full pre-op to post-op process with me and I was under no pressure to make any decision. I did decide to proceed and on the day of the surgery I was understandably nervous but Dr Amir talked me through the whole process letting me know that everything was going to plan which was a great comfort. As soon as the anesthetic was administered I felt no pain at all and the operation was over in less than an hour. You are then shown up to the first-floor reception, which again is designed with impeccable taste, where a Patient Experience Lead will offer you a soft beverage and magazine. Dr Rado’s knowledge and explanation of the procedure was brilliant and Julia was able to find an appointment for me. All health care information was sent electronically (seamless) and the procedure was booked in. On the day, naturally, I was very nervous but again, Dr Rado and his nurse (who kindly held my hand at points which soothed my nerves) but the procedure was completed excellently.
