What is the best option for me and how do surgical methods differ?

There are several methods of carrying out this surgery. Our surgeons determine the best procedure based on your anatomical concern rather than just doing one method. The areola can be addressed with an incision around the outer aspect of the areola (circumareolar excision) with a resultant do-nut shaped portion of skin being removed; the scar can be placed at the base of the nipple so is more discrete but this will depend on how much areola skin needs to be removed. The surgery may involve the areola and the skin below – this may result in a lollipop scar. You might desire a small uplift and a circumareolar mastopexy would address this. Therefore, your surgeon will examine the breast tissue and determine with you, what would be the best procedure to address your concerns.
