Will there be discomfort, bruising or swelling, and for how long?

With any surgery there can be a degree of swelling and bruising. The bruising is usually limited to the areola and the surrounding skin. But sometimes it can involve the entire breast. Don’t worry as the bruising and swelling is a natural part of the healing process and patients differ in how they heal and their rate of healing.
