Annette, a 51-year-old health and safety worker from Surrey, had a Concept Face and Neck Lift with Liposuction to Chin in September 2021. Here she shares her experience with us, with an emphasis on the recovery process and how everyone heals at different rates.
My neck and jowls had been bothering me for years and making me look older than I felt. It wasn’t that I looked at my face and wanted to stop the aging process, I just felt that I looked really tired. I had just got a new job, I was in a new position higher up the ladder, and during Zoom calls I would reposition the camera so that people couldn’t see my neck. I wanted to look more professional, more fresh-faced and more alive! I wanted to look the age that I felt, and not look like the older person in every meeting.
I had known Mr Amir Nakhdjevani since 2014, and I’d had surgery with him in the past - he did my upper eyelid surgery for me - and I’d always said I wouldn’t go with anyone else for future work. You hear horror stories of other people’s experiences at different clinics - from being forced to sign on the dotted line before you even get to meet a consultant to surgery that makes you look plastic - but I know I can trust Amir. He tells you exactly what to expect, there’s no hard sell and he makes you look like you, not like a plastic mannequin. In fact, he even asks if you’re absolutely sure this is what you want to do, so the opposite of a hard sell!

My pre-surgical experience was wonderful, everyone was so lovely. I went to see Amir in person - he prodded and poked and gave me some good and honest recommendations. I’ve always looked young for my age, and he double checked how old I was and said he’d only do the Concept Face and Neck Lift if I was menopausal. Your skin can sag during menopause, so my results could change if I hadn’t already been through it. Amir explained everything to me, it was really interesting, and he put me at ease.

After the surgery, I was really well looked after. Nothing was rushed, and time was taken to explain everything. Scott was amazing, we had a right laugh and he really looked after me.
To be truthful, my recovery was slower than I’d expected from reading other stories from previous patients. Most said they were fully recovered after 10 days, but my healing process has been a lot slower. It’s taken me four weeks to feel like I’m growing into it. I had a bit of a reaction to the stitches which made me worried that I’d ruined my face, but I saw Cindy and she put my fears to rest, prescribed me antibiotics and reassured me that people heal at different rates.

She said that my results were good, and Nikki said this was one of the best results she’d ever seen, so that made me feel great. I made peace with the fact that my journey would be unique and I stopped comparing myself to others. Stacie has been amazing and answered all my questions, and no question was too stupid. There’s a phone number you can call anytime, and everything is in one place.
In the end it has been absolutely worth it. It’s like time has been rewound and I’m back in my 30s! I no longer look in the mirror and dislike what I see or think “wow I look so tired”. I feel like I look so much fresher - I look like me but on my best day! I no longer have to worry about finding the right angles on Zoom calls or covering my neck with my hand. The scars are healing nicely, and every day the results are getting better and better.
For anyone else considering this surgery, or any surgery for that matter, remember that people heal at different rates and have their own journeys. Don’t compare your recovery to others, you’ll get there in your own time, and you have the recovery team there to help you every step of the way.
I no longer have to worry about finding the right angles on Zoom calls or covering my neck with my hand. The scars are healing nicely, and every day the results are getting better and better.

In November 2023 I booked a full abdominoplasty and vaser lipo with Amir. I visited for my initial consult and knew straight away that i had found the right surgeon, Amir was compassionate, knowledgeable and extremely professional. Fast forward to the 18th of January and my surgery day, Amir was understanding of how nerve wracking surgery can be and i felt at ease from the moment I walked into the building. I was in theatre a lot longer than planned due to an umbilical hernia and extra muscle repair, Amir is a perfectionist and made sure all was well and to his high standards before finishing the surgery. I’ve had a minor umbilical complication which is unfortunately one of the risks associated with this procedure. But the aftercare I have received from Amir and his team has been second to none and I could not be happier with my results. I look forward to my umbilical correction in a few months.
