Step 3. Preparation for Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck surgery
You'll be given individual pre-treatment or pre-operative advice to reduce any complications and support your speedy and healthy recovery.
It's important to let your specialist know if you're on any prescription or over-the-counter medications. You may be asked to stop taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory tablets, which can increase the risk of bruising. It's also essential to stop smoking cigarettes and e-cigarettes before and after treatment because they can disrupt the healing process.
On the day of your treatment, the team at Bella Vou will welcome you, give you a gown to wear and escort you to the state-of-the-art treatment suite.
Step 4. What happens during Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck?
Fluer de Lis Tummy Tuck is carried out under General Anaesthetic and on average, takes around three hours to perform.
The surgeon makes two incisions - a horizontal one in the lower abdominal area (similar to a traditional tummy tuck) and a vertical incision that runs up the middle of the stomach. Like a traditional Tummy Tuck, an incision will also be made around the belly button.
Excess skin and fatty tissue are removed, and the underlying muscles are tightened. This procedure is more extensive than a standard tummy tuck, so it can involve a longer recovery. After the surgery, patients wear compression garments to support the healing process and achieve a smoother, firmer abdomen.
Step 5. Recovery from Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck
Recovery from a Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck is more comprehensive and extended compared to a traditional tummy tuck due to the additional incisions and extensive tissue removal involved. The typical recovery period for a tummy tuck is approximately six weeks. However, some individuals might experience a slower or quicker return to normal activity. It's important to note that the pace of recovery can vary among patients.
In the initial days post-surgery, patients may experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising in the treated area, managed with prescribed pain medication. Compression garments support healing and reduce swelling. Light activity is encouraged, while strenuous exercise is gradually reintroduced as advised by the surgeon. Most individuals can return to work within two weeks, depending on their job's physical demands.

I gained 5 stones in both of my pregnancies and breast fed for a year with each baby, and despite lots of hard work in the gym, there was no chance that my body would ever recover. At the age of 40, I have good muscle tone and low body fat (bmi of 20), but all of that was hidden under loose and saggy skin. I also had quite a large separation of my abdominal muscles, which meant my stomach protruded, despite being slim… I booked in for a circumferential tummy tuck, breast lift and implants and had my surgery at the end of November. It was a long operation (around 8 hours) and I stayed overnight at the clinic. There were really, *really* lovely nurses caring for me overnight… I’m 4 months ish post surgery and… my body looks AWESOME. Amir should work for Mattel, because he’s given me a body like Barbie. I’ve never had a body this good – even as an 18 year old my boobs weren’t this symmetrical and perky or my stomach this flat. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. The first time I met Rado I was a shell of my true self. Weighed down by my previous surgery after a cervical cancer diagnosis. I didn’t love myself or my body. From the moment I made contact with Bella Vou and going to the clinic I knew this was the place for me to have my surgery. The staff are amazing and my patient coordinator Julia has been available and with me every step of the way nothing is too much for her. I’ve read lots of reviews about Jason the nurse and I was lucky to have him as my dedicated nurse the day of surgery. When I set foot in this clinic for the first time I was impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and genuine sense of the “patient being top priority”. In my initial appointment, Amir patiently answered all my questions relating to abdominoplasty… I felt very safe and reassured that the patient’s Interests were put first at all times and above any other considerations. The day of the surgery arrived, and I was looked after by a very friendly, kind and attentive team who were there whenever I needed anything. From stepping foot at Bella Vou I knew this was the right place for me Amir was lovely from the get-go and made me feel at ease and listened to what I wanted so I booked in with him. On the day of my surgery, he made me feel calm and started drawing up on my body, and then It was off to be put to sleep. I had all three done same day… I had some revision surgery at about 15 months after the initial, some liposuction around the flanks, and some additional skin removed from the chest. This was included in my original fee as part of their revision policy, really great that Amir did this additional surgery for me…it really elevated my results especially in the chest area which is now everything I was hoping for, it’s literally removed all sagging whether stood up straight or leaning right over. I’m not sure where to start with my experience at Bella Vou, I just know that I felt confident with Amir’s skills from the outset. Everything was explained in great detail and I could not be happier with the results. A previous surgery had left me with an off centre tummy button and without the shape I was hoping for. Using Vaser liposuction with abdominoplasty surgery Amir reshaped my whole torso, removing excess fat from my hips and giving me a central tummy button again. I had this surgery together with Vaser lipo and Renuvion to my inner thighs which removed the stubborn fat I had been unable to shift for years. I cannot rate Amir and Bella Vou highly enough. My tummy tuck scar is the NEATEST I have seen…they often saw me, looked at my photos and called me right away if I was worried…My friend had the same procedure in the UK somewhere else at the same time and her aftercare was non-existent and her scar is like a shark attack so I know I found an amazing place! That was 18 months ago now and the results are incredible, scar is now invisible and belly looks amazing. Amir Nakhdjevani is a surgeon with excellent talent and professional integrity. I would say these are the two most important things to look for when trusting someone with your body. I have had surgeries performed by Amir (tummy tuck, breast reduction, liposuction of chin, arms, thighs, back, and buccal fat reduction). I have also spoken to Amir about other procedures I was interested in, but he was very honest and said the risks and expected outcomes wouldn’t make it worth my money/time/risk. I very much appreciate this honesty and transparency in a consultant, as many others I’m sure would be happy to take my money and not be concerned about the outcome. Everyone at the Bella Vou clinic is very kind and seems to genuinely care about you as a patient. I have had an outstanding experience with Amir Sadr at Bella Vou from start to finish. Firstly, at my initial consult, which was free of charge, and not hurried at all. Amir answered all my questions and made me feel really comfortable. He is clearly very passionate about what he does and he will only operate if he feels it is the right thing for the patient. I went on to have a tummy tuck and brow lift at Bella Vou in October 2021, receiving excellent care both on the day (general anaesthetic and an overnight stay), and in the following weeks during the healing process. A year later in October 2022 I had an upper eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty) under local anaesthetic walk in/walk out which I am recovering from now. I really cannot fault Bella Vou at all and would recommend them without hesitation… My healing process went pretty smoothly, but even so I returned to have checkups and dressings changed etc. which was very reassuring. After my tummy tuck the area around one stitch did get sore and needed a bit more care. All of this would have been much more worrying had I not had the amazing support of the Bella Vou team.

I had a tummy tuck with Vaser Lipo on 18/12/2020…each and every one of the staff was amazing, introduced themselves, and explained to me what would happen. I got taken into the theatre room and the next thing I remember was waking up…Amir came in to show me my results and I honestly couldn’t believe how I looked. Absolutely life-changing, Amir explained he had been able to remove more skin than he had first thought, the removed skin weighed just under 5lb and my muscle repair was around 4 cm. I was able to get myself out of bed to the toilet during the night…Amir S came in to check me over and discharge me. Todays modern world is dominated by impatience and shabby standards yet Bella Vou is like stepping into another planet. Questions and concerns are welcomed and the team want you to be happy and as reassured as possible. Amir is an excellent surgeon caring and informative & wants to do the best for you. He will examine you and then steer you to the right treatment and explain how it all comes together to give you the best outcome. My abdominoplasty saved my life: I had 3 bad scars from my appendix, C-section and hysterectomy, and as a size 10 looked butchered, crooked & distended. I now have one clean line of scar tissue and a calm flat abdomen again. The surgery took place in March 2018 and 15 months on the scar is discrete and flat. In my mid-forties and following large weight loss I was left with a significant belly overhang and excess skin, causing me pain, skin infections and discomfort. I spent years tucking it all away into Spanx, and oversized clothing and trying to disguise the excess…Amir completed a drainless tummy tuck, muscle repair and monsplasty for me, resulting in almost 7lbs of skin removal and a whole dress size smaller!!! Recovery from major surgery is always a challenge, however, my aftercare provided by Amir and his team was second to none, with phone calls, messaging, emails and in-person support whenever I needed reassurance and advice. (and had exercised/dieted and realised I was never going to get rid of a Mummy’s Tummy that way ) The team at Bella Vou could not be more friendly and professional and you are treated with respect and confidentiality. The hospital used was also very impressive in admin, nursing, catering etc. But most of all, Amir, is a top-notch surgeon! He is warm, caring and realistic about the process. From my first consultation through to post-op support Amir and his team have been absolutely first-class. In my mid-forties and following large weight loss I was left with a significant belly overhang and excess skin, causing me pain, skin infections and discomfort. I spent years tucking it all away into Spanx, and oversized clothing and trying to disguise the excess…Amir completed a drainless tummy tuck, muscle repair and monsplasty for me, resulting in almost 7lbs of skin removal and a whole dress size smaller!!! Recovery from major surgery is always a challenge, however, my aftercare provided by Amir and his team was second to none, with phone calls, messaging, emails and in-person support whenever I needed reassurance and advice. One year on – my results are absolutely amazing, I have had some adjustments to the ends of the incision lines, and the scarring is minimal, almost invisible in its flatness and colour, well positioned inside underwear or swimwear… I would absolutely recommend Amir and his wonderful team – thank you all so much for transforming my life.

The Bella Vou Clinic is impressive: everyone is super polite, efficient, and very helpful. Todays modern world is dominated by impatience and shabby standards yet Bella Vou is like stepping into another planet. Questions and concerns are welcomed and the team want you to be happy and as reassured as possible. Amir is an excellent surgeon caring and informative & wants to do the best for you. He will examine you and then steer you to the right treatment and explain how it all comes together to give you the best outcome. My abdominoplasty saved my life: I had 3 bad scars from my appendix, C-section and hysterectomy, and as a size 10 looked butchered, crooked & distended. I now have one clean line of scar tissue and a calm flat abdomen again. The surgery took place in March 2018 and 15 months on the scar is discrete and flat. A transformation and I feel so much more comfortable.

From our very first meeting, I knew that I could trust Amir and his team to carry out the procedure that I wanted and ensure that everything went smoothly. My consultation was not rushed and Amir took the time to explain everything to me and what I could expect from it. He listened to my reasons for wanting the procedure and we discussed my best outcomes. On the day of my surgery, Amir visited me a number of times and he made me feel that I was top priority for him despite knowing that he had other surgeries/procedures that day. Following my procedure Amir came to see me and went through my surgery. When he showed me what he had done I was overjoyed, so much so in fact that I cried as I was overwhelmed with how amazing I looked!…Once again I received wonderful care and attention. … I’ve lost 6st, and finished having babies, I hate my mummy pouch from a c section and 4 babies and too much cake. I decide I want a tummy tuck and knew the person I’d want to do it would be Hagen, So…a month later I was booked in for a full tummy tuck and flank lipo. He was available via text or phone in the run-up to answer any silly questions I came up with…Hagen came in and we had a laugh and joke and I felt completely at ease, Hagen explained the procedure, drew the lines and we ran through the consent form, I walked around to the theatre, relaxed and calm, and woke up in my compression garment, a new women… I go home and start my recovery, again any worries or concerns I have he is available and replies promptly every time… From start to finish this surgeon has gone above and beyond and I am so happy to of had the privilege of having my surgery done by him. He has cared about every single step of the process, as much as I have. So I am 3 weeks since my op I had no pain I had VDL and boob job best thing I did. Didn’t even notice I had a boob job no pain I must admit I was a little uncomfortable with my stomach but no pain so happy. Only problem is one part of my scar not healing great Dr Amir has been great seeing me all the time keeping an eye on it and so now I have a vacuum pack on to help the smallest part to heal. Everything else has healed so well the boobs look great and I am so happy. Bella Vou has been the best, nothing too much for them email them and they reply straight away, call they help I highly recommend feel like I have been looked after so well, and it shows with the results I have.

After losing 29 stone, the damage I had caused to my body needed some serious help. Amir was highly professional, confident, reassured me, and knew his stuff. He really did deliver… his team are amazing, and the new facilities are beautiful! I had a fleur de lis tummy tuck, arm lift, breast augmentation, implants, and a lower body lift.
