I had been wanting a facelift for a couple of years as I felt I looked older than I was. I visited several surgeons for consultations regarding surgery, but my fear was having an unnecessary general anaesthetic and also the amount of bruising and downtime that was involved with a traditional facelift. I did some more research and came across Amir and his Concept Facelift. I made an appointment and went to see him.

It was an excellent consultation and Amir immediately makes you feel comfortable and puts you at ease. He also takes a lot of time to discuss what you want and will also tell you realistically what results you can expect. He advises you on the best surgery to have to achieve results and you are not pressured in to anything you don’t want or need. We decided on a concept face and neck lift.

On day of surgery, I was really nervous…. but again Amir and his nurse Kathryn put me totally at ease. The initial injections of local anaesthetic sting a little bit but then you don’t feel a thing. You feel some strange pressure and pulling and the tightening of muscles as surgery progresses but no pain at all.

The surgery took about 2.5 hours but time flies as conversation is continually flowing and a lot of banter keeps you feeling relaxed. Once finished I was handed a mirror, and yes it is a shock at first because your face is pumped full of fluid for the surgery and you look very stretched, but by the next morning the majority of that had gone down. Apart from my husband I didn’t tell anyone that I was having it done, but next day my my mum and sister decided to drop by for an unexpected visit.

The bruising was so minimal and the scars were hidden by my hair so they couldn’t see anything obvious. My sister has since asked me if I have had fillers as a lot of my wrinkles have gone. I flippantly said that I had a facelift and she doesn’t believe me because I see her most days and she said she would have noticed all the bruising if I had that done!! In the days following surgery all I needed was paracetamol. Everything healed beautifully with no problems. Kathryn phoned me the day after surgery and I had a follow up appointment with Amir 10 days later.

A couple of months after the surgery I had another appointment with Amir as I felt the skin was not as tight as I would have liked, and he explained that it needed a slight adjustment which I had done a few weeks later. Again just done under local and cuts through previous scars and skin tightened. Recovery was slightly more painful after this, but again minimal bruising and after a couple of days totally back to normal.

I am really happy with the outcome and have no hesitation in recommending surfer with Amir and his team. I’m already saving so I can have an eye lift with him.
