Enhance Your Lips At Any Age

Pout, Entice, Excite….Lips are the most sensual place on the face so it is not surprising that lip filler is one of the most popular, non-surgical, cosmetic treatments we provide here at Bella Vou. With some help from our celebrity friends, Kylie Jenner, Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba, we have been plumping up lips left, right and centre!

The key is to have a gorgeous, inviting pout without it looking unnatural; unlike the horror stories of Donatella Versace and Lesley Ash! Here at Bella Vou, we are delving deep into how lip enhancements look through the various stages of life. If your lips are not as alluring as you would like (or are not what they once were), take a look at the procedures offered at the clinic that can maintain that youthful pout at any age.

20s

Lip enhancements in your twenties seek to remedy ‘too-thin’ lips, natural asymmetry, or that perfectly descriptive “resting bitch face” that can happen when the corners droop downwards. We can address these issues using fillers (like Juvederm). The filler generally lasts between 4 to 6 months and only takes 30 minutes to carry out the procedure.

30s

The lips are still quite youthful, however, wrinkles can begin to appear on and around the lip area. This occurs as the body loses collagen and elastin over time, coupled with years of drying sun exposure and poor health choices. Once again, fillers here can be used to gently alleviate these concerns and at this age, you would not require a great deal of enhancement to get them back on track. We’ve all seen bad examples in the media where too much of a good thing is a bad thing!

In our 20s and 30s, enhancements are mainly focused on correcting what nature did not naturally bless us with. However, the focus in our 40s and 50s, is to enhance and restore our previous youthful appearance.

40s

In our 40s the products we use change to counteract the increased drying of the lips and surrounding areas. Laughter lines are more pronounced which etches grooves around the lips making a smooth base makeup coverage impossible. The lip structure itself will also begin to change. The corners of the mouth become weaker which in turn draws the mouth downwards, giving the appearance of a frowning expression. Fillers are beneficial as they fill in the wrinkles to reverse the appearance of aging and bring back fullness to other areas around the lips too.

50s

Changes occur during our 50s as the lack of elasticity in the skin creates an inevitable drooping that starts mid-face and works its way between the lips, giving the appearance of a downward smile, and then to the lower face and jowls. Great! So what is there to look forward to? Qualified doctors and aestheticians can safely and elegantly use a mix of fillers and neurotoxins to recreate the curve at top of the lip (aka Cupid’s bow) and the vertical columns that run from the base of the nose to the top points of the lips. Your youthfulness will be restored without drastically changing the way you look.

60s and over

At this point in your life, an aesthetic professional would be looking to continue to restore the youthful appearance by reconstructing the key areas, including bringing back the fullness to your lips. Whether you’re in your 20s or 60s, trust your enhancements to a surgeon/aesthetician who will listen to your needs and knows your cosmetic goals. Beware, too much filler alters your facial anatomy instead of enhancing you.

We can’t control your ever changing looks but our non-surgical solutions could be the answer you are looking for……Perfect lips!
