After undergoing facelift surgery, many people are nervous about having further procedures. Our surgeons will offer expert analysis and advice. Through a careful consultation, the specialist will determine what is achievable and give you a full explanation of the advantages of surgery, as well as explaining any potential problems and complications. They will discuss the difficulties following your previous surgery and your wishes and objectives. This will allow you to make a fully informed decision about whether to proceed with a revision facelift.

What does this involve?

The surgery required will depend on the problems that need to be addressed following your previous surgery. Many people will be able to be treated by an innovative new type of facelift developed by Mr Amir Nakhdjevani from Bella Vou. The Concept™ facelift is a less invasive procedure, performed under local anaesthetic. There is a short scar that runs in front of the ear and ends behind the ear. The operation lifts the cheeks, removes jowls, smooths skin and restores definition to the jaw line. It is not a mini lift, a concept facelift addresses both the excess skin that occurs as a natural result of aging as well as tightening the muscular foundation of the face ( a SMAS lift ) to provide long-lasting, natural-looking results with a quicker recovery and less down time.

However, revision facelifts can present additional challenges because of the changed anatomy and the existing scars. Corrective procedures can be complex and usually take longer than the first operation. Sometimes the facelift surgery will be performed under general anaesthetic, a more extensive operation will be done or a number of staged procedures may be necessary to achieve the very best results.
