DNA 4D Skin Tightening – There is some chance that you’ve had laser before: to fry unwanted hair, sharpen your 20/20 or zap damaged capillaries. But we’ll take bets on that you’ve never had it applied to your mouth. The inside that is! DNA 4D Skin Tightening – whilst plumps, smooths and evens out skin – is the first laser procedure that tackles those tricky to treat ‘marionette’ lines (the groves that run to the sides of your mouth) from within. You need at least four applications of laser here: the Dual Yellow, to sort out pigmentation; a couple of passes of the Fotona SP Dynamis (one mode to rev up collagen and another to tighten); and the crème de la crème, the intra-oral laser. What looks like a fat pen with a changeable nib, is poked around the inside of the cheeks and lips, tightening the tissue. And tighten it does: the same laser is preferred by gynaecologists to assist with incontinence.

PAIN FACTOR: It differs substantially, from the sleep-inducing warmth of the Dual Yellow, to the searing sensation of the Fotona; feeling a bit like drops of wax landing on the skin. For all the excitement, you can hardly feel the intra-oral.

DOWNTIME: Skin looks flushed and feels like it’s on fire immediately after (a cold compress will help), although this subsides within around 12 hours. Mild peeling can occur three to six days later.

RESULTS: Your face looks visibly better immediately, shinier and smoother, with a sense of having been lifted. After four sessions, each a couple of weeks apart, fine lines are remarkably diminished and deeply etched nose to mouth lines are clearly softened.
