If you have large nipples that seem out of proportion to your breast, then a nipple reduction can help restore the balance and leave you feeling much more comfortable about your appearance.
Is this right for me?
It is important to note, if you are considering having surgery on the breast (Breast Reduction,Breast Augmentation, Areola Reduction), you should think about completing your family first, if possible. This link will give you more information on breast-feeding and breast surgery: Can I breast feed after Breast Reduction Surgery?
What does this involve?
This is a local anaesthetic procedure that involves removing a portion of the nipple, but maintaining its overall shape. It is performed as a day case procedure in our surgical suite, and you can go home the same day. This procedure is sometimes performed along with an Areola Reduction.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the recovery like?
A simple dressing is placed on the operated area. This is then removed at 1 week when the wound is checked by a member of the clinical team. There is minimum down-time with this procedure and you can carry out most daily activities within 1-2 days following surgery. You might experience some discomfort but simple analgesia is usually all that is required.
