1 Week
During the first few days after surgery, the incision site will be swollen, bruised, and may ooze a small amount of blood or fluid. It is important to keep the area clean and dry, and follow any instructions given by your surgeon for wound care. You may also experience some pain and discomfort, which can be managed with medication. Right after surgery, breasts appear high and firm due to swelling and implant placement. They may seem unnaturally high on the chest.
6 Weeks
After a week or so, the incision site will begin to form a scar. The scar will be pink or red in color, raised, and firm to the touch. This is a normal part of the healing process and the scar will begin to fade over time. Swelling gradually subsides, and implants start to settle into a lower position. Breasts become softer, and the upper pole fullness decreases.
4 Months
Over the next few weeks and months, the scar will continue to mature and soften. It may change colour and become less noticeable. It is important to avoid exposing the scar to direct sunlight, as this can cause it to darken. As tissues relax, the lower breast begins to fill out, creating a more natural contour. Implants drop further into place, improving shape and symmetry.

I had a BA with Lucian nearly 3 weeks ago and so far I’m really happy with everything. The healing process is going really well and I can’t wait to see the end results. Unfortunately I had an unrelated illness medication allergy to a new medication I started just prior to my surgery but he supported me through the whole process, he sent me to A&E, told me what tests to run to rule out any complications with the BA and was calling me every hour to check on me. Thankfully it wasn’t the new girls but a severe reaction to my medication but even still he got me on for an extra check up to ensure I was doing ok and to check everything was healing beautifully. After doing my research and visiting other clinics for consultations (also through recommendations), my aunt (an existing client of Bella Vou) recommended I visit Dr Amir at Bella Vou. From the very second I stepped into the practice, I instantly knew that this would be the place I finally have my procedure. The whole team made me feel welcome and at ease, instantly, you feel as though you are part of the family. The clinic is stunningly beautiful, clean and smells divine. My patient coordinator Isabella has been and continues to be on hand to answer any questions or concerns and is very knowledgeable. Kelly, my nurse on the day of my surgery, did everything and more to ensure I was as comfortable as possible, and managed my pain very effectively. Kelly ensured everything was organised and packed an extensive list of medication promptly and ready for me to be discharged. There was literally nothing for me to do or need, I went home fully prepared for my recovery. At my 1 week review I saw Nurse Jade who replaced my dressings very gently, answered any questions I had and made arrangements accordingly. On my return home from my review, I was greeted by a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the team, which was a lovely surprise, 2 days before Christmas. The cost was fully inclusive with no hidden extras, all prescription medications were given to me as well as all support garments and dressings, even a drink and snack for our journey home! I am now 2.5 weeks post surgery and already in love with my new boobs! The team are constantly still in touch and I feel very well looked after. I had an abdominoplasty with 4 sites of lipo and mastopexy + bilateral breast augmentation almost 6 weeks ago now. From stepping foot at Bella Vou I knew this was the right place for me Amir was lovely from the get-go and made me feel at ease and listened to what I wanted so I booked in with him. On the day of my surgery, he made me feel calm and started drawing up on my body, and then It was off to be put to sleep. The whole team from the front house to the nurses to your patient co-ordinator and your surgeon are just absolutely amazing. Everyone is so understanding, friendly and caring. During my consultation with Amir I felt so listened to and could tell how experienced and knowledgeable he was. About 8 years agoI have a breast augmentation with another surgeon. Gradually I felt my implant getting hard and feeling uncomfortable. So after a long informative consultation with Amir I decided to have my implants exchanged for smaller ones and have an uplift to reduce the skin laxity. I was very nervous on the day, as expected. But when I arrived at Bella Vou in the morning I was seen by Scott, who performed all my pre op checks. He made me smile and feel really comfortable, like I was part of his family. I had my own room which was like a hotel, with drinks, biscuits, an overnight goodie bag full of lovely toiletries. A soft dressing gown and slippers, all them home comforts to help with the nerves. All the theatre staff including the Anaesthetist, Joy, Cindy etc and obviously the main man, were incredible. My result is even better than I expected. My breasts are more in proportion to my figure and I feel clothes fit me a lot better. My scars are super neat and not noticeable in a bra or bikini. …My journey at Bella Vou from the minute I stepped foot in there was a feeling of safe, calm and confidence. All the staff go that extra, there is nothing robotic about the clinic although they must see the same things over and over. You are a person with an individual story and are treated with the utmost respect and care… the way they all looked after me and treated me, I actually walked into the surgery room before going under smiling and happy with no jitters and no doubts at all and apparently woke up dancing. That is how at ease this amazing Clinic made me feel. I never do reviews I always think they maybe false but this is a review I had to do…Time has passed quickly and really feel I have exactly what I wanted and asked for…I was a 32 AA and now flutter between 32 B&C. I can finally wear underwire bras but find I don’t want to very often… I went to Bella Vou for my 6-month check and everything is fine, the scar is getting less obvious every day. The recovery was smooth and I had no problems at all. Sometimes I did get ‘twinges’ little stabs of sharp pain randomly but nothing to bother about. I did wear a surgical bra for about a month and a half but it was more a feeling of comfort rather than me feeling I needed it. The numbness is still there but I am starting to feel more areas than others. The experience for me has been nothing but positive and no regrets.

I did unfortunately experience a very rare post-operative complication that required me to return to the clinic for treatment. This was absolutely no one’s fault and simply one of those rare risks that can occur with any surgical procedure, despite everything being done correctly. The support, reassurance, responsiveness, and compassion from the entire team have been outstanding. Unfortunately I had an unrelated illness medication allergy to a new medication I started just prior to my surgery but he supported me through the whole process, he sent me to A&E, told me what tests to run to rule out any complications with the BA and was calling me every hour to check on me. After doing my research and visiting other clinics for consultations (also through recommendations), my aunt (an existing client of Bella Vou) recommended I visit Dr Amir at Bella Vou. From the very second I stepped into the practice, I instantly knew that this would be the place I finally have my procedure. The whole team made me feel welcome and at ease, instantly, you feel as though you are part of the family. The clinic is stunningly beautiful, clean and smells divine. My patient coordinator Isabella has been and continues to be on hand to answer any questions or concerns and is very knowledgeable. Kelly, my nurse on the day of my surgery, did everything and more to ensure I was as comfortable as possible, and managed my pain very effectively. Kelly ensured everything was organised and packed an extensive list of medication promptly and ready for me to be discharged. At my 1 week review I saw Nurse Jade who replaced my dressings very gently, answered any questions I had and made arrangements accordingly. About 8 years agoI have a breast augmentation with another surgeon. Gradually I felt my implant getting hard and feeling uncomfortable. So after a long informative consultation with Amir I decided to have my implants exchanged for smaller ones and have an uplift to reduce the skin laxity. I was very nervous on the day, as expected. But when I arrived at Bella Vou in the morning I was seen by Scott, who performed all my pre op checks. He made me smile and feel really comfortable, like I was part of his family. I had my own room which was like a hotel, with drinks, biscuits, an overnight goodie bag full of lovely toiletries. A soft dressing gown and slippers, all them home comforts to help with the nerves. All the theatre staff including the Anaesthetist, Joy, Cindy etc and obviously the main man, were incredible. My result is even better than I expected. So I am 3 weeks since my op I had no pain I had VDL and boob job best thing I did. Didn’t even notice I had a boob job no pain I must admit I was a little uncomfortable with my stomach but no pain so happy. Only problem is one part of my scar not healing great Dr Amir has been great seeing me all the time keeping an eye on it and so now I have a vacuum pack on to help the smallest part to heal. Everything else has healed so well the boobs look great and I am so happy. …My journey at Bella Vou from the minute I stepped foot in there was a feeling of safe, calm and confidence. All the staff go that extra, there is nothing robotic about the clinic although they must see the same things over and over. You are a person with an individual story and are treated with the utmost respect and care… the way they all looked after me and treated me, I actually walked into the surgery room before going under smiling and happy with no jitters and no doubts at all and apparently woke up dancing. That is how at ease this amazing Clinic made me feel. I never do reviews I always think they maybe false but this is a review I had to do…Time has passed quickly and really feel I have exactly what I wanted and asked for…I was a 32 AA and now flutter between 32 B&C. I can finally wear underwire bras but find I don’t want to very often… I went to Bella Vou for my 6-month check and everything is fine, the scar is getting less obvious every day. The recovery was smooth and I had no problems at all. Sometimes I did get ‘twinges’ little stabs of sharp pain randomly but nothing to bother about. I did wear a surgical bra for about a month and a half but it was more a feeling of comfort rather than me feeling I needed it. The numbness is still there but I am starting to feel more areas than others. The experience for me has been nothing but positive and no regrets.
