Is this right for me?
Our plastic surgeons will discuss the type of surgery that is required and whether this would be as a general or local anaesthetic procedure. Our cosmetic surgeons only use absorbable sutures under the skin to minimise the scarring. Some patients who have the procedure under general anaesthetic may require drains. You will take antibiotics for 1 week following the surgery. The scars will fade over time to leave a faint line in the groin or on the inner thigh.
Our cosmetic surgeons will assess your skin quality and elasticity in the inner thigh area. In patients will good elastic skin the fat of the inner thigh can be removed by liposuction and allow the skin to shrink over the following weeks and months. If the skin is thin and lost its elasticity then it needs to be removed at the same time.
The outcome of thigh lift surgery will leave hidden scars that will fade with time and leave you with a more re-shaped and toned thighs that allow better fitting of clothes and swimwear that improves your self confidence.
What does this involve?
The extent of your thigh lift surgery depends on the amount of loose skin and fat you have in your thighs. In minor cases excess skin can be taken up into the groin, leaving just a hidden scar. Otherwise, the scar will extend discretely from the groin down the inner thigh and towards the inner knee.
In some patients liposuction is also performed to achieve the desired appearance of the thigh. The cosmetic surgery procedure takes between 90 - 120 minutes to carry out.
