10 Cosmetic Surgery Myths Busted

With all things in life, everything is subjected to untruths and gossip and cosmetic surgery is not immune to this. Over the years our surgeons have heard all sorts of myths and misconceptions that people believe to be true and that they have had to refute. In this weeks blog we break down the most common misconceptions surrounding cosmetic surgery.

Myth #1 – Men are more confident about ageing than women.

This has proven to be untrue. In the last 20 years there has been a vast increase in men opting for cosmetic surgery and hair loss treatments.

In 2016 the most popular procedures undertaken by men were Tummy Tucks and Rhinoplasty (nose job). Modern society and the media deem that it is now considered to be more acceptable and even expected for men to take better care of their appearance, whereas in the past it would be considered ‘un-manly’ to even consider using a moisturiser.
